Pumpkin Spice Creamer

Good morning and welcome to your terrific Thursday!! Fall has definitely hit western Washington. 🍁  We have rainy & stormy weather and it is exactly the kind of day that makes me think of sipping a hot beverage next to a cozy fire! 🔥

Plus, this is the season for pumpkin spice everything right??!! How about trying a pumpkin spice creamer to add to your coffee, infused with healthy and delicious essential oils? Not only will you be enjoying your favorite fall flavors, but you will be nourishing your body at the same time from the inside out. This recipe features cinnamon, clove, and ginger.

Recipe:

2 cups almond or coconut milk
1/3 cup pumpkin puree
1 drop Cinnamon Bark Vitality
1 drop Clove Vitality
1 drop Ginger Vitality
1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract

Mix all ingredients in blender. Refrigerate in airtight container. Shake before using.

Let’s take a closer look at what yummy goodness you will be infusing your cells with using these 3 vitality oils.

Cinnamon Bark Vitality: Using Cinnamon Vitality oil brings a warm taste and sensation to your favorite dishes. Taking Cinnamon Bark Vitality essential oil as a dietary supplement can support healthy digestion and help maintain a healthy immune system.

Clove Vitality: Clove Vitality™ essential oil is the concentrated distillation of the same distinct, spicy cloves that have been used in kitchens for thousands of years. Perfect for adding flavor to both sweet and savory dishes, Clove Vitality oil includes the naturally occurring constituent, eugenol. Want to know more about this healthy component and what it can do for your body? Check out this article when you are done reading this post: https://www.motherearthliving.com/plant-profile/eugenol

When taken as a supplement, Clove Vitality essential oil promotes a healthy immune response and may support overall wellness. Who doesn’t need more of that this time of year??

Ginger Vitality: I love the flavor ginger brings to sweet or savory dishes. Ginger essential oil has so many different benefits and I would encourage you to Google it to learn how it can benefit your body more. I love that it is an oil that helps support my digestive system and my respiratory system at the same time!

Side note: Have you heard about the benefits of Golden Milk? Sara started making this for us when I was in the midst of a bad asthma flare up a couple of months ago. It benefits both of our bodies so much. All 3 of these amazing vitality oils, she added into our Golden Milk Recipe to kick up a flavor and therapeutic benefits notch.

BONUS: Did you know that you will receive Cinnamon Bark Vitality for free in October with your Essential Rewards (ER) order of 100 pv minimum?

Thanks so much for joining me this morning and learning how to kick your coffee up a flavor notch. Wishing you an amazing rest of your day!

Happy Lungs

Good afternoon everyone!!  Today I want to take a moment and share with you what is going on personally for me.  It’s no secret that there are wildfires burning out of control in the West.  Living in Washington State, I am smack dab in the middle of them, which also means I get to breathe the lovely effects of the smoke pollution that is heavy in our skies on a daily basis right now.  As a sufferer of Asthma, this also makes me one of the “sensitive” groups that have felt it worse than the average person.

I felt inspired to talk about what I’ve been doing with essential oils to help my home and family during this past month (plus) that we have been dealing with this.  Diffuse, diffuse, and diffuse those pure essential oils!  I cannot stress this enough to anyone dealing with any kind of air pollution.  I’m running my diffusers around the clock as much as possible to keep our indoor air as clean as it can be.  Over the past month, I have alternated mainly between Purification, Thieves, RC, and I used lavender & lemon in the diffuser in the bunny room yesterday to help them as well.  These are all good choices to help cleanse the air and promote wellness.

However, yesterday it appeared my body was craving something else and I was inspired to try something new.  I had been hoping to make the 2 hour drive to the beach and spend the day for the past couple of weeks….since ocean air is very good for the lungs. However, I am currently unable to safely drive to that degree, so I have to be content with continuing to finding additional ways at home to support my respiratory system.  Enter the inspiration for using the combination of Citrus Fresh and Rosemary essential oils, which for the record smells a bit like fresh beach air to me when diffused together (I use about a 3:1 ratio of Citrus Fresh to Rosemary in my diffuser.)  The scent was a pleasant surprise and I could almost feel that ocean mist rolling in off the shores.

12106864_10153720037152502_5188357030720394564_nCitrus Fresh is a combination of orange, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, mandarin, and spearmint essential oils.  I’ve always loved this combination for its smell alone (not to mention the vitality oil tastes fantastic in water,) but all those citrus oils are also fantastic for freshening, sanitizing and air cleansing.  They are well known for their immune boosting and mood boosting properties as well.  The soothing addition of spearmint essential oil to this blend has also added a very calming component to my lungs the past couple of days.

10388184_10153607187087502_4632772974953659189_nAdd in some Rosemary to the mix, which is well known for respiratory support, immune boosting, and mood boosting and I feel like I found a combination of oils that is truly hitting the spot for me right now.

I am thankful I trusted my intuition yesterday and tried this oily combination to help give my body what it has been asking for.  I want to encourage everyone to enjoy experimenting with their oils.  Our bodies are all different and different oils will benefit us at different times.  Think outside the box.  Create different combinations that your body is craving and when you find something that you really like, feel free to share that combination with others.  After all, we are all here to support each other along the way.

Wishing you a magnificent Thursday filled with oily goodness!

Light & Love,

Jennifer

30 Day Update

I have to confess…I procrastinated on posting my update on my progress with the new health supplements I am using for weight management.  I did weigh myself at the beginning of the month though, so I will be posting those results.  I will admit, I was not sure what to expect because I did not consciously focus on increasing my exercise, or changing my food choices.  Partly due to June being my birthday month and allowing myself to do some indulging I do not usually do, but partly because I have seen so many supplements and weight loss products on the market that people talk about losing so much weight. Then when you read about it, you also find out that they completely amped up their exercise routine and went on a “diet.”  No shocker there….of course you are going to lose weight when you fully change your lifestyle, with or without supplements to help.  I wanted to see what would happen when I added some Slique products to my current lifestyle and go from there.   Continue reading 30 Day Update

Crockpot Refried Beans

A super simple delicious and nutritious vegan refried bean recipe.  Enjoy!

Ingredients:

3 cups dried pinto beans (rinsed)

8 cups water

1 large yellow onion (cut in quarters)

2 jalapenos with seeds (cut in thirds)

2 heaping tablespoons of minced garlic

5 teaspoons himalayan salt

1 teaspoon cumin

Directions:  Place all ingredients in large crockpot and cover. Cook on high for 6 hours, or until beans are soft.  Spoon off excess liquid, leaving enough to create a creamy texture when blended.  With an immersion blender, blend until creamy.  Serve with your favorite mexican food, or with chips and salsa. Enjoy!

  • This is also a tasty side dish to the Avocado Grilled Burritos with Tangy Cashew Cilantro Sauce recipe you will find in my Recipe folder on this blog.

Avocado Grilled Burritos with Tangy Cashew Cilantro Sauce

This is a favorite vegan recipe in my house.  Enjoy!

Burrito Filling:  2 Servings, using 10 inch soft taco shells

2 large avocados, peeled, pitted, and mashed (or diced, depending on preference)

2 tablespoons chopped red, or yellow onion

4 tablespoons of sun-dried tomatoes, chopped

1/3 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

1/2 tsp sea salt

*Dipping Sauce:

1/2 cup chopped salted cashews

1/2 cup avocado oil

8 teaspoons white vinegar

2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar

1/4 cup raw honey

1 1/3 cup fresh cilantro

1 tablespoon minced garlic

1/3 cup white onion

1/8 teaspoon turmeric

2 tablespoons sugar

2 teaspoons ground black pepper

3 teaspoons cumin

Directions:

Dipping Sauce:  Place cashews in blender and finely grind.  Add avocado oil, vinegars, honey, cilantro, garlic, onion, turmeric, sugar, black pepper, and cumin.  Blend until texture creates a smooth dipping sauce.  Set aside.

*If you have leftover dipping sauce, add 1/8 cup cashew milk to the blender with sauce and combine.  This creates a tasty salad dressing to add to your favorite green salad.  Refrigerate.

Burritos:  Preheat griddle to 350 degrees.   In a bowl, mix together avocados, sun dried tomatoes, onion, cilantro, and sea salt.  Divide filling evening and place in the center of your tortilla. Pull the bottom half of the burrito over to meet the top half.  Pull the tortilla back, forming the avocado filling into a roll.  Fold one side in, and then the other side.  With both ends folded, tightly roll your tortilla into the perfect burrito.  Place burritos on the grill and heat both sides until brown to your liking.  Place on plate and add desired sauce.  Enjoy!!

  •  Suggested sides:  Spanish rice, refried beans (see my recipe for vegan crockpot refried beans in the recipe folder of this blog), or green salad (with the tangy cilantro sauce.

Three Weeks Into My Journey

June 20, 2017

Tomorrow marks my 3 weeks using some of the Slique Products, designed for weight management.  It’s been an interesting journey starting this during my birthday month!  I may not have thought that out the best since I did splurge on some special foods early in the month.  However, in reality…that is life.  I refuse to live on a diet and if I want to eat something I really enjoy than by golly…I am going to do it!   Continue reading Three Weeks Into My Journey

Energized!!!

June 8, 2017

Good morning!!  Yesterday completed my first week using my new weight management products, so I thought this would be a good time to do a check in and let you know what I am observing so far.  Let me start by telling you that I am experiencing things that I never saw in the many, many years of trying different weight loss supplements and products.  I am amazed!! Day 3

6/3/2017

I’m finishing up day 3 of my challenge and so far, I like these new supplements. I have been consistent with the CitroSlim and what I notice most so far is the energy they give me. I have definitely had a nice consistent boost of energy the past 3 days and better focus too.  I am getting more done with less of my own brain distractions. That alone is a huge reason for me to continue with this experiment. I have been looking for something that would give me consistent energy naturally.  These capsules seem to be helping my physical and mental energy levels. Continue reading Day 3

Zeus’s Spa Day!

June 2, 2017

Oh…haircut day! Let me tell you, Zeus’s hair cuts have not always went smoothly.  We have spent HOURS calming him and getting him to sit still in order to complete one beauty session.  He has been on the to do list for a few days now and with the warmer weather, he let us know he was ready for a change with his panting and itching…poor boy.  Time to move him to the priority #1 spot!   Continue reading Zeus’s Spa Day!
